What is your preferred discipline within climbing and why?
The discipline I prefer in climbing is leading. I love rising. I love looking at the earth from different angles. After climbing a long line, after getting tired, I love to make moves under stress. This liberates me.
What's your favourite kind of rock?
I love small handles so if there are small crimp holds, that wall is perfect for me : )
Which climber of any time in history would you like to belay you and to belay OR to spot or be spotted by ? and why?
I wanted to climb with Daniel Du Lac, and I climbed with him at Bafa Lake. The Petzl team went to Turkey in 2014 for the Petzl Rock Trip. Firstly we went to Bafa Lake for bouldering. Everyone was trying the hard boulder route. Daniel Du Lac came on foot with his hat and sat nearby. Nobody climbed the route, including Petzl's pro athletes, but Du Lac just stood up, climbed the route and went. It was so cool : )
Do you have a ritual you perform before you start to climb?
I have no ritual before I start to climb. I just climb an easy 3-4 routes for a warm-up.
What is one climbing area you haven't been to and would love to explore?
I think Turkey is a very nice place to climb. There are lots of different types of rock. The weather is available all season to climb. But I do wonder about Margalef.
What is the best way to spend the day when the weather is bad enough to keep you indoors?
If the weather is bad, my favourite place is on our sofa with my wife :) I go indoor climbing when the weather is bad. Yes, I like indoors, but my choice is always real rock.
